The wu-tang flag is again waving majestically in the wind. We seen a lot of wu-members releasing full albums, mix-tapes, and EP lately some on independent labels and some on majors. And there’s more - coming up, now its RZA’s turn. And what a surprise his album is.

Though the bobby digital thing was both entertaining and funny one grew a bit tired of it so did RZA, I imagine because on his new album Bobby’s presence is pleasantly low. Instead we meet a hungry and play full RZA or prince Rakeem as he call himself on some of the tracks – it is as tough he’s back and playing the game just because he can. RZA and sidekicks steals from around everywhere and shows off different styles just because they can, and it works.

On the second half of the album we meet the RZA we are more used to, experimenting with sound and with deep introspective lyrics. Some of the songs are the typical minimalistic production and on some he brings in live musicians for; flute, trumpet, drums, and bass.  It stands respect of a man with such success and so willing to risk it. Not only risk it, but he uses he’s gift to push forward new acts and he releases his music on independent labels, he travels and collaborates with hip hop artists from across the globe (as heard on his prior inde release; the world according to RZA) always keeping touch with the roots that brought him where he is today. No sell out just real.

Highlights: A Day To Good Is 1000 Years, Chi Kung, Koto Chotan, See The Joy, and of course We Pop
Producers: RZA, Tru Masta, Megahertz, Choco, Bronze
Nazareth
