It’s a most anticipated game, thanks to the previews and previous games in the series,  not to forget commercials that has been running on among other tv stations mtv. But can it live up to the hype? Is it on the same level as those others that came before? Can it compete width; True Crime, The Getaway, and GTA: Vice City? Read on and I’ll tell you.

First of all yes it is a great game, and no it doesn’t live up to the hype. In coolness True Crime is far better, in details nothing beats GTA. There are plenty to love about Driv3r, the atmosphere, the crazy stunt driving, the one and only replay; “movie director”. But let’s start with the beginning.

What I loved is that there are complete towns ready to explore in “take a drive” mode right from the start. Here you can learn the controls, hunt down some secrets; bad guys, cars, and weapons. This is a great approach as it gives a feel of instant action. Of course you could go straight to the main story mode, but why do you want that?

Now then how does the cars handle? They handle pretty well not always very realistic, but always fun. One note to the developers though; A big truck doesn’t bounce like a ping pong ball when u hit a walkway curve in slow speed.

Also there is a few bugs and glitches in the code and graphics which some times gives you some interesting results. More annoying to some might be the pop-in / draw-ins, there are a lot of them. This might not make such a big deal when you deep in to the action, but at least in the “take a drive” mode it where a bit annoying at times, especially when cars just appears as you speed down the highway.

There are an incredible range of vehicles to drive from boats to trucks and even a lift-truck which you can unlock in Venice in take a ride mode. Also there are real life weapons and a bunch of really dumb cops, who at time can be annoying. Temporary rating: 7/10

This game is for you who want your finger on something after you played trough the big hits it the same genera, or if you loved the prior games.
