I was not
sure whether or not I would bother writing a review on Harry Potter 5, since it
has been one of the most sold books ever both online and offline, and since you
if you’re a fan surely already read it.
If you are a fan: send us your own
small review and opinion on the turn the book has taken. If your not a fan: or
has not read the book yet, read on.
Harry
Potter the phenomena might be hard to explain at first. What is it that is so
captivating with a boy wizard and his friends? One could start with saying that
magic, adventures, and mystic always has been a surviving part of old folklore
that never really gone out of fashion, and who still captivate children though
the same story telling has made it’s way into various other medias such as
movies, games, and even cartoons. But I don’t really think it explains its
tremendous success. I think, and I’m almost positive about it, it can simply be
explained by J. K. Rowling’s exceptional gift to tap into and write about the struggle
youngsters go trough, she have cleverly developed a cast that has something
everyone can identify with, and she tells the story in a way that even adults
can smile and be amused with – remembering just how it was when one self was a
kid.
J. K. ’s writing skills has proved by the
years, so has the Harry Potter books, and with the fifth installment we
presented with the yet best book. The book might not have the most complex
story line, but the complexity of the feelings of the characters has grown,
just like one would expect – so has the average reader I suspect. Every thing
is not bad or good anymore, and Harry dips his though in his first experience
with love and the loss of it. Harry is by far much more like an average
teenager this time; he has sudden outbursts of anger and frustration not always
directed at the right source, just like teenagers. He must cope with a lot of
feelings, but strangely enough the arc enemy is strangely absent in this novel.
Well at least in a direct way – you and Harry’s friends still very much can
feel the dark lord’s presences.
By the end
of the book you are left puzzled in so many ways that I don’t going to go into
it here in this article, you’ll see what I mean when you read the book. Weird
though, but in someway the book gives sort of a conclusion or end, but then yet
again not. I know doesn’t make sense.
Final word,
pick up the book. And if the thought that wizard and such are silly and
childish has kept you from reading the books ‘til now, I have one thing to say.
See the two movies and get book #3 to #5, I promise you ours of thrills,
amusements, giggles, awes, and just a bit of excitement. Just like a good book
ought to be! Happy reading!
