Ying Yang Twins hits a home run with their latest album U.S.A.
Which where released at the end of July. Though this album which are
fills the CD to the brim (nearly 80min) contains much of the Atlanta
based crunk crooners standards, you'll be surprised by some of their
new and unsuspected directions.
The album has everything from smashing club hit songs (like the
whisper song) to street bangers like “Ghetto Classics”
and “Say Yi Yi” to love songs for the late evening. In
fact slow-tempo and soft is the read thread trough the album –
more then often with a obviously influence of R&B king R. Kelly
(especially noticeable on Bedroom Boom Boom), who would have
suspected that from the people who made a name for them self as
brawlers.
Though The Ying Yang Twins proved their could hold their own
awhile ago they might be mostly known to people trough various
collaborations, often loud-mouthed and brawling. This album whoever
shows a duo that has matured a lot and it's almost like they have
planned their legacy.
King of Crunk Lil John has overseen some of the production while
DJ Smurf others, all in all this album are heading for my top 5
hip-hop album of 2005 and almost certain one of all time top 15, it's
an album you can listen to in whatever situation or mood your inn so
check it out, you wont regret it. Verdict: 8.5/10
