Silent Hill 3 is the new benchmark on ps2

There’s only two games I ever played that I couldn’t stop playing before my eyes refused to stay open, that is: Silent Hill 2 and now 3 – the graphics sets the new benchmark for playstation 2.

Silent Hill the original was something of a phenomenon on playstation one when it came out it featured cinematic and story telling only paralleled by legendary Metal Gear. Then the sequel came and stunned us on the then relevantly new console playstation 2. Embrace yourself for Silent Hill 3.

Once again your taken to this god forsaken nowhere land. Maybe hell and maybe it’s in the mind of the narrator, whatever it is – it’s scary. It’s sets the mood like only the best thriller / horror movies can. I don’t want to tell you anything about the plot as it will ruin the game for you, but if you like a mind twisting, adrenalin filled adventure then this is the game for you. The quality is unparalleled just as the others before where. The graphics sets the new benchmark for playstation 2. The sounds are worthy of a movie, though for us with a surround system it’s a little sad that it doesn’t support Dolby, but it doesn’t matter that much because the Q-sound system used delivers above expectation.  

The only negative thing I can say about this gore filled, mind twisting, nerve wrecker of an adventure is that it should have been released in the autumn or winter where the whether would have added an extra scary feeling to the game. =) There’s only two games I ever played that I couldn’t stop playing before my eyes refused to stay open, that is: Silent Hill 2 and now 3 – so get it. If you think you got the stamina for it! Verdict 10/10
