the queen is back: Lil Kim hotter than ever!

Did
someone have a feeling that they might not just see much more to Lil Kim
a little while ago? I know I did, but god I’m glad I was wrong with her new
album la bella mafia she proves she is still the queen among the female rappers.
Who would have thought that the one would fine any new fresh sounding material on lil kims new CD la Bella mafia,
but that’s exactly what you get if you listen closer. Maybe this is not obvious
first time you pop the cd in your cd player, maybe it sounds just like any
other lil kim rap, but listen closer. Yes, some of the verse sounds familiar,
but there are clever variations both in the way she perform and how they
are written.
The album has something for everyone and the years have done the rap queen
well. She now spits more mature introspective verses as well as more braggadocios
verses as good as her best male counterparts. The album also comes together
well without sounding repetitive in fact this is an album you very well can
listen to from 1 to the last track without going bored.
Thanks to various producers the album also feels and sounds very retro-fresh
(with that I mean: it’s back to old skool with minimal sounds, but in a new
way), especially with a few of the songs with bollywood inspired Hindu-pop.
Clever. This is most certainly the best female rap album to be released since;
well maybe since lil kim’s hardcore. Verdict 8/10
Highlights:This is a warning, Came Back for You, Thug Luv, Can’t fuck with queen be, The Jump Off, Shake your bum bum. Production: Lil Kim, Havoc, Scott Storch, Timbaland, Swizz Beats, J Waxx
